A PVD TiAlN-class (MEGACOAT) nano-multilayer coating on an ultra-fine 0.4–0.6 µm carbide substrate delivers high-speed milling capability with long, predictable tool life across steels, stainless, cast iron and high-temp alloys.

Worked example on S45C steel at Vc 100 m/min: Ø6 mm runs ≈ 5,305 RPM with table feed ≈ 1,114 mm/min (fz 0.07 × 3 flutes). With ≈ 15 mm flute length and ≈ 55 mm overall length on a Ø6 mm h6 shank, maximum side-milling engagement is ap ≈ 15 mm × ae ≈ 0.6 mm for finishing, or ae up to 2.4 mm in adaptive roughing strategies. Clamp with runout ≤ 5 µm TIR and at least 2.5×D clamping length.
