▶ Operating Guidelines

  • Coolant: High-pressure internal coolant (20-70 bar) is strongly recommended for holes deeper than 3D. External flood coolant acceptable for shallow holes.
  • Tool Runout: Maximum 0.01mm TIR at the tool tip. Excessive runout will reduce tool life and hole quality.
  • Peck Cycle: For depths > 3D, use peck drilling with retract to 1D depth. For > 5D, use full retract to clear chips.
  • Entry Angle: Use chamfer or center drill for entry. Avoid direct entry on inclined surfaces > 5° without pilot hole.
  • Spindle Warm-up: Run spindle at operating speed for 5 minutes before production to ensure thermal stability.
  • Tool Change: Replace tool when flank wear exceeds 0.15mm or when burr formation becomes excessive.
