Operating Guidelines

  • Coolant: High-pressure flood coolant (5-8 bar) is recommended for steel machining to extend tool life and improve chip evacuation. Minimum coolant concentration 8-10% for water-miscible fluids.
  • Tool Overhang: Keep toolholder overhang to a minimum (≤ 4× tool diameter) to prevent vibration and chatter during finishing passes.
  • Edge Preparation: Do not touch or re-hone the cutting edge. The factory T-land and micro-honing are optimized for the CA510 coating adhesion.
  • Insert Seating: Ensure the toolholder pocket is clean and free of chips before seating. Torque the clamping screw to 2.5-3.0 Nm.
