Operating Guidelines

  • Coolant: Use water-miscible cutting fluid at 6–8% concentration, minimum 20 bar through-tool coolant or high-volume flood coolant. Flood coolant acceptable for shallow holes (L/D ≤ 2).
  • Peck Cycle: For holes deeper than 3×D, use a peck depth of 1.0×D with full retract to break chips. For stainless steel, reduce peck depth by 20%.
